Welcome to svkiva.com, a cruising web site focused on Jan and Terri Buskop's Irwin 52 ketch, Kiva. We left Houston, Texas in June, 2007 starting with Key West, The Bahamas and up the East Coast to North Carolina during the summer.

In late fall 2007, we crossed back to The Bahamas to start cruising through the Caribbean. We spent the summer in 2008 Chaguaramas, Trinidad for hurricane season and spent a lot of time upgrading and fixing Kiva.

For the winter of 2008-09 we were back cruising between the area of Grenada and St. Martin. Our major destinations where Carnival in Trinidad (February) and Classic Race Week in Antigua (April) and we were back in Trinidad for the summer.

For our third year of cruising we plan to stay in the eastern Caribbean again and spend more time in the islands that we have missed in the the previous two years.

We hope everyone enjoys the web site and keep sending us your emails!

June 2011 - KIVA anchored in the Bahamas on her way back home to Houston, TX. After four years of sailing around the Caribbean, we sailed her back to where we started from to deliver her to a new owner.
